By all means, try Craigslist.org    

The economy is a little slow right now and many people are selling their toys. I just did a search on the Tampa, FL craigslist site for jetski under $3000 and found 55 listings.

Find a knowledgeable friend or pay a mechanic to check out anything before you buy it though.
