Second idea is going to the winter clearance sales at ski and surf shops, Big 5 Sporting goods has winter sports clearance sales, as does Sports Authority, Sport Chalet, and REI.

Check them out for clearance prices.

get a used burton, K2 Gnu Ride or sims board on craigslist

Check eBay, craigslist, used sporting goods stores and local classifieds.  Buying used is the best way to get a decent quality board for cheap.

Other options are waiting until the end of the season and seeing what's left in the sales, but that can be hit or miss.
