  1. It depends on your taste...

There is a VERY upscale restaurant that is ultra-modern in style.  If you are looking for your traditional candle-lit dinner, this is not the place.  The name is "rain", and it is owned by Michael and Guy rubino.  The food is fusion in style...they tell you order about 1 appetizer and 1 entree per person (but everybody will be sharing, of course).  The apps are about 30, and the entrees are short of 50.  It is very expensive for the average consumer, but if you have a refined palette, it is a great choice.!

  2. Lots of great choices...

The Sultans Tent is a Moroccan restaurant with beautiful decor (chiffon drapery and silk pillows everywhere), great food and belly dancers that entertain during your meal. The menu is set price but with a lot of choices - about $50 per person.

Spuntini on Avenue Road is another great option. Italian food, warm and cozy decor with dim lighting. Will be a little more pricey but fairly reasonable as Yorkville restaurants go.

Bangkok Garden on Elm Street is a great Thai restaurant with an amazing ambience. Monsoon in the Richmond/Adelaide Club district is an asian fusion place with a really unique feel and later on becomes a great bar/lounge.

    Have Fun!

  3. Rain is a very good idea but if you want something a little more romantic (in terms of view, candlelight, etc), you could try 360° which is at the top of the CN Tower.  My cousin's bf, instead of going to his Prom, decided to take her to 360° instead to celebrate.  Very nice.

  4. The 360 at the top of the CN Tower is a beautiful restaurant.  The food is excellent, and not as overpriced as some of the 4 or 5 star restaurants in TO.  Service is always great, and the atmosphere is very cozy and romantic.

  5. 6 steps in the st lawrence market area

the boiler house in the distillery district
