Where in the world offers an alternative holiday experience? I'm bored with the same old same old package spanish holiday which involves beech, booze, clubbing and sunburn ha ha

I wouldn't mind something like a health resort or extreme sports or something like volunteering or even a trek involving nature. I want somewhere where i meet interesting people instead of the usual drunken lager drinking idiots.

Not some where too expensive I'm not that rich!

And somewhere safe as in i wont get bombed, robbed, etc ect thanks!

  1. Try some of the destinations at http://www.cheap-fun-family-travel.com/U...

  2. BORACAY island

  3. Try Costa Rica - this is a much different experience that you've had before.  Although you can spend the whole time drinking, clubbing and sunning if you wish - but there is so much more.

Surf lessons, volcanoes, zip lines, horse back rides, white water rafting, kayaking, hot springs, etc.

I've been to La Fortuna, Monteverde, Manual Antonio and San Jose.  There are many many other cool areas to try to and I'm knocking them out slowly.  Click on these links to get an idea of the types of things you could be doing:

Or how about taking some spanish classes and learning to fire dance?  Or surf?

Lodging can be really really cheap to midrange.  I've stayed at places that were less than $20 a night (and they were nice - off season of course) and I've stayed at places that were $150 a night (even nicer).  You can tell from the links that all day activities are around $75 - $100 - and half day activities are around $50

Tons to do and learn and see - and you never have to spend a minute doing the "same ol' thing".

And I just found this:  If you want to add some volunteering, you can help at the animal shelter - feeding baby monkeys - now that sounds like hard work, hehe

  4. I've always wanted to do a volunteer vacation.  But many of them aren't cheap.  But if you want to look into it, here are some of them I've been looking at:

Oh, and I've been to Costa Rica - it really does ROCK!!!!!!  You have to zip line (or Canopy Tour - same thing).  It's so much fun, and it's really safe.  The CR people are sooo nice!
