  1. Paris is really really expensive, so you'd better try to move a bit further from it. The 'RER' (it's a kind of train : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RER ) can drive you from lots of cities that are close to Paris. I think it's the best solution for both of you.

Here's a map of the RER : http://www.ratp.info/picts/plans/gif/res... so you can try to check if there are cheap flats in the cities named on that map. You can go on that website to find a flat for example : http://www.avendrealouer.fr/annonces-imm...

    Good Luck :D

  2. Hello

For find a bedroom you can go in the web sit www.aparthotel.com they are a good choice, and you can have discount.

    Have good trip

  3. Hi!  Been here a year and have tons of info... The best sites for finding great rental property are:

    www.avendrealouer.fr

    www.pap.fr

possible fusac but not too many listings.. http://www.fusac.fr/en/

Oh, you'll need to speak french for the first two but Fusac is english...(usually).  They usually have more listings in the magazine version available at most english-oriented places.

Avoid craigslist as the properties are furnished and way over priced.

Get an unfurnished place!  Then furnish it yourself easily through BHV or IKEA (they'll deliver everything in a day or so) or just rent a car and go get it.  Why?  Cause it'll save you a alot of money.  Furnished places are available but they really charge way too much.  The delivery charge is 70 euros at IKEA (there are 4 IKEAS in Paris!).  Don't order online (though its tempting) instead take the RER to the nearest one then just pick out stuff and have them deliver.  so much easier!

Oh, and make sure the kitches is "equipe", that is has stuff in it or you'll have to go out and buy a washer, stove, oven, etc.

Oh, and ask about light fixtures.  Many apartments do not come with light fixtures!  If not you need to buy them and get them installed.  Yeah, weird.

Btw, don't live outside of Paris.  Yes, it can be pricey but you didn't move to Paris to live outside of this great city!!!  That's what all my french collegues told me (to move to the suburbs).  The suburbs suck ***.  yes, they're quiet, they're cheap but they SUCK.  Sorry to be so blunt (and no disrepect intended to the French advice above).
