  1. I would try yard sales

  2. try this site

    http://www.craigslist.com

  3. It depends on the size you want. I know chain stores sell full setups - 29 gallon setups cost around $100 at Petco/PetSmart.

It's often cheaper to buy the full setup as a package, because buying everything new and separate can cost much more. If you buy used, bleach everything and rinse well until you can't smell the bleach anymore. Some fish diseases can live for a long time even in dry tanks.

If you don't already have a stand, you should consider getting one. Even a 10 gallon tank can easily weight over 100lbs and you need to make sure whatever you place your tank on can support the weight,

  4. I would look in your local papers.  I've seen many that were a fraction of the original cost and they usually have all the extras.  You might be able to see the "for sale" ads on line from your local paper.

  5. Yeah ebay is great if you can find one close to you because they won't ship most tanks. A better idea is to go to your LFS and see if they can sell you a good used one for cheap. Usually they will sell you not only the tank but a filter, and heater, light hood etc. that they have tested to work.

  6. Walmart carries a few sizes.  Pet store specials are a good start. also you could try a local fish club who are often happy to help.  you could try a wanted ad in the paper, but you could very likely end up with an old, broken, or contaminated tank.

  7. this is not the bargin bin try craigs list

  8. go on ebay, not on yahoo answers!?!?!?
