try the Irish television website its  http://www.rte.ie/news ,there is a section there for news archive, but I dont think it would go back that far, but I suppose you could always email information and request it.

Lol, Funny thing actually, While that was going on I was on a School tour in Paris... so I suppose you're right, We did promote it... Well my school did anyhow...

They were portrayed as disaffected unemployed youths rioting.

There was some suggestion that government policies may not have helped calm the situation.
