Christmas Bay, wade fishing or boating was my favorite spot and still is when I get down that way every year or so. Wade fish near the Key largo condemned condos right off of the beach highway between Galveston and Freeport. Wade out due north for about 1000yards, water will be about 3-4ft deep then starts dropping off. There is a nice oyster reef in about 10 ft of water that runs for about 200yrds through there. If going by boat then fish near the channel areas that connect the Intercoastal waterway with Christmas Bay. I was down there over the fourth this year and caught plenty of good fish out of that Bay(reds, specks, and flounder). 40yr exp
