  1. Your link leads to a page full of "Celebrities", no bikes in sight.

Are you referring to a bike you pedal backwards to apply the brakes? these are called coaster brakes, Schwinn, for example, make bikes like this.

If you mean actually propelling your bike backwards:

You could simply convert your bike to "fixed wheel" ie no freewheeling device, then you can pedal forwards or backwards.

Use an older style wheel with a threaded gear block, take this off and put on a single threaded sprocket, available from many bike shops. However, you will need to use thread locking compound and ride it hard forwards for a while first, to tighten the thread as much as possible, otherwise it will simply undo itself when you start pedalling backwards.

Backwards only bikes are custom built. But you can make one very easily:

put the rear wheel the other way round, fit the crankset on the left side of the bottom bracket (make sure you use non-hardening thread locking compound on the pedal threads, so they don't undo themselves as you pedal). If you are going to use standard derailleur gears, you'll need to get a rear mech hanger welded next to the LH dropout, or else use an older frame which has slanting dropouts, and an older rear mech which can be clamped into the dropout on either side.

Finally, you'll need to get some mirrors, or get used to looking over your shoulder, or sit backwards. practice on soft ground so you don't break so many bones each time you crash! Is it worth it?
