Hi, I'm 26 and have decided before I get into my whole 'career' thing to find somewhere I would actually like to live. Fancy helping me out?

Main points would be:

1, I'm Bi, so somewhere g*y friendly (don't wanna be glared at for walking down the street if I'm with a guy)

2. Good weather (I'm Irish and pale skinned so not killer heat or I'll melt) Ideally a long Summer but somewhere close by I can go snow boarding in Winter :)

3. Cheap cost of everyday living...I have recently come back from the U.S. and its so cheap over there compared to here! (Paris for the mo) I just feel like I'm being ripped off

4. Interesting culture (not just necking pints)

Not half picky am I?

Seriously though, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to book a round the world trip so I can maybe stop off in some places to 'test' them out :D

Thanks

  1. Hi! (you just responded to my question, bout my husband being either bi or g*y or whatever he is. But I'll respond to yours, first. I don't know how to reply to the ans.you gave me anyway!) Well, I would say San Diego! Tempe Az. is hot. But, Ca. is great. It is not cheap tho. You would need a roommate.Warm climates are usually not cheap. Unless it's the **** pit. Like the sticks where there's no civilization. Northern Az. is nice. Close to Co. where u could snow board. Close to Vegas too. It's not as hot as Phoenix & Tempe. There is a university in Flagstaff Az.(that's up north too) but the weather is sometimes cloudy & rainy. But it's college town.  I would say Cal. maybe LA. But, I don't think it's cheap there. & if it is, you wouldn't want to live there. I'm not much help am I? Sorry.

  2. I'd say Thailand - That would meet all of your criteria.

    1. Definitely g*y friendly - when I was there I had loads of guys hitting on me randomly in the middle of the street.

    2. Great weather - Usually always warm, though does get wet around October/November.

    3. Incredibly cheap living!!!

    4. The culture is definitely different than anything in the west.

    5. You can't actually go snowboarding in Thailand, but you could get cheap flights to Japan (Niseko is amazing for snowboarding!! guaranteed powder!) in the Winter, and New Zealand/Australia (never been but I'm sure its good) in the summer.

If you didn't have the 'g*y Friendly' point, I could suggest almost any country in East Asia. I would love to live in China but it isn't the most g*y friendly country, and I'm going to live in Japan next year but the Japanese people are sooooo conservative - but I'll jump that hurdle when it comes....

  3. I live in New Mexico (USA), and I think it's great.  We don't have any natural disasters, unless you count sun and dirt. ^^;   It is probably hotter than what you're looking for though.  But you can snowboard in the mountains during the winter.  There's no humidity, which can be a blessing or a curse.  Just bring lotion. ;)

We have a mix of Mexican, Native American, and modern American culture that is actually really interesting.  Plus, we're one of few place where you can find good green chile!

I know a lot of g*y and bi people here in Albuquerque, so you're good there too.  I don't actually know much about the rest of New Mexico though.  I'd say avoid small towns; older generations tend to be more set in their ways.

  4. I would think somewhere in canada.......... close to snow...... warm in summer and i'm sure the bigger cities would be g*y friendly.
