  1. You could try ebay uk http://motors.shop.ebay.co.uk/items/Moto...

and narrow your search down to so many miles (kilometers) in the distance box

Craiglist is also a grat place to look, http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites

Just click on you country,  find motorcycles, and click on it and you'll a find a list of motorcycles for sale in your area

    Another place to look is

    http://www.cycletrader.com/

Again fill in the zip code and distance and see what comes up in the locality you are searching for.

Ozraibike has a whole heap of info that will answer the question about what you can ride because looking at the 1st two sites he provided and navigating them it tells you that a provisional motorcyclist rider (or A1 license holder) can ride up to 125cc or 11kW  so yes a 50cc scooter falls into this category from the A1 you go to an A restricted which goes to approx 300cc or 25kW, then finally an A which is any sized motorcycle but only AFTER 2 YEARS ON A FULL LICENCE.

A1    Motorcycles up to 11kW or 125 cc           16 years

    A (restricted)Motorcycles up to 25kW (approx. 300 cc) 18 years

A    Any size motorcycle (after 2 years on a full licence) 18 years

M    Moped with maximum speed of 45 kph and engine size up to 50 cc 16 years

    This is from http://www.irishmotoring.ie/cms/publish/... and

Good luck in finding your new ride, and stay safe and stay upright

  2. I'm guessing that you are on the A1 licence  so here are some sites that might give you a touch more knowledge about motorcycling in Ireland:

    http://www.irishmotoring.ie/cms/publish/...

    http://www.irishmotoring.ie/cms/publish/...

These 2 websites above are for the differences in your motorcycle licenses and what license you require for a bigger capacity motorcycle.

    http://www.irishmotoring.ie/cms/publish/...

As for buying a scooter....The 1st one is ELMS Scooter Club which can give you more info like what to look for in buying a scooter (especially a second hand one)

    http://www.irishbikerforum.com/adverts/s...

    http://www.irishbiker.ie/

    http://www.add.ie/for_sale-o14798-en.htm...

The last couple are more ads for selling 2nd hand scooters http://www.finditireland.com/links/motor...

This one is the website that has a lot of links for the motorcycling community in Ireland
