my husband and i are in the market for a new home and we have found an absolutely beautiful home ( it is a fixer upper) for a great price. it is a foreclosure. We talked to the neighbors today and they told us that the family was fighting alot and the two owners in a divorce.

later the wife was living alone in the house and just turned up dead one day.

i would like to know where i could find out HOW she died. i read the obituary and it said she passed away suddenly..

i have also heard that you may have no problems with ghosts until you start remodeling the home?

and something a little scary.. in the kitchen the molding was in the process of being painted and theres just a place where it totally cuts off.

what would you do?

do you think it is haunted? or could be?

  1. If you are concerned that the place might be haunted, see if the area has any "Paranormal Investigators" and contact them to find out what you should do. Don't go to a Psychic, ( alot are fakes). They might just "open a portal" or make the situation worse by mistake.

  2. If she is a friendly ghost, you can have tea and crumpets with her. Once you have ghosts you can't get rid of them.

  3. sometimes (depending on the city) you can request the death certificate. otherwise request that you speak to the previous family.

if you still have concerns, buy the house get it blessed by your church/faith/whatever

my sister bought a great house and it was haunted. she heard voices when she was alone, the water ran in sinks even when they were turned off. she even had a plumer come out for that one. when she had kids, the oldest told her about a man ouside when no one was there.

she had it blessed twice and has had only little things happen since. mainly foosteps and the water occasionally. but it did help with the "man" and the voices.

    goodluck

  4. lucky you!

even if the house is haunted i'm pretty sure there's a way that you can fix that problem. you can have a physic come or a priest depending on your religious beliefs.

and as far as the molding goes, i think you're nuts :]

  5. I would buy the house.  People die suddenly at home all the time.  If you're really worried you can have a ghost hunter check things out.  Find one online.  You can also have your house blessed.

  6. i think that it could  be. ghosts r no problem until their disturbed

  7. There is no indication that this is haunted.  Just because woman died doesn't mean anything...people die in houses all the time.

  8. I truly believe that you should have your home blessed asap...  I also believe that if your pastor can preform an exorcism on you new home would be better.................................

  9. Ghosts don't exist.  So, I would see if you could buy it for a reduced price because there are ghosts.

  10. Youre a rocker..........

  11. I don't imagine it would be haunted.  It might have a slightly uncomfortable atmosphere since you know someone died there, but I can't see any obvious reason for this woman to return as a ghost.

As for the remodelling, I really don't know.  I do know of a house in Scotland where a murder had been committed back in the 1960s.  The new owner of the house found the room where this had happened was impossible to heat and always had a bad feeling about it.  When he took out a dividing wall and made it part of one larger room, it seemed to solve the problem.

Given the current state of the world economy, my first concern would be whether I could afford the mortgage rather than whether the unquiet dead are still hanging around...

  12. I think I can answer this question; I am a medium and intuitive and have cleared homes.  I also have a background in real estate as well.

If you have an agent, ask them to do the leg work for you, as this is what you're paying them for.  Death Certs can be ordered, however you need pertinent info such as date of birth\date of death, full name, drivers license numbers etc.  I would check with the mortuary if you can find which one handled the burial and with the prior owners.

That said, IF THE HOUSE IS HAUNTED, (as you have no proof, and it seems that you're wondering if it is without experiencing anything), if you start remodeling then yes, this can stir spirits to come forward.

And the molding paint proves nothing.

If it is a good buy, then I would have it thoroughly checked (inspection, appraisal) and check everything yourself throughout the house (plumbing, water heater, etc.) prior to buying since people who lose homes normally do not have the funds when things break down.

Also, any tax liens that are associated with the home come with the purchase, so have a complete title done prior to closing.

If once you move in, and start work and things start happening, keep a camera close and take pics once you see something.  Also keep a recorder on voice activation near the site of the issues occuring.  Then contact a paranormal investigative team near your area to come in and check the home.

    Good luck.
