Im looking to move to Detroit around December?

Hey i am originally from saginaw but have been gone since i was 19 and i am in texas now and plan on moveing back to michigan and going to school in Detroit. I am low income and am on ssi and ssd i was wondering what the apartment markets look like. and also i can work how bad is it really? i have a friend up there that tells me its bad. Im also 25yrs old too if it matters. Any help will be appreciated. i am also not affraid of downtown or the fort street area or is there a site where i can look for apartments up in that area?   1. you may want to try around the wayne state area!! i love it there and the rents are fromm30 a month and up!! also...near by royal oak, and oak park may be better and are a short commute!!!

My husband works in Detroit and the economy is not as bad as everyone says, he just got another job offer yesterday.  You have to put your name out there, start at the bottom and work your way up.  Housing is available every where, vacant apartments in almost every building, you'll be fine, I'm not sure where any low income housing is but i'm sure you will find some and everythign will work out great.  Good luck!
