  1. That's a sticky situation. The key is to stick with it as long as you can. Maybe when you're doing BP, you should use softer balls, like tennis balls. If you get hit, it wont hurt. And as you start gaining confidence back, gradually work your way back up to baseballs.

  2. I've coached for many years. The first thing one needs to understand if they are going to try to play baseball at a "higher" level, is that it hurts.

You have to want it more than you fear it.

I've also played for a very long time . . . I could never get to that point as a player, so I simply enjoy playing the game without worrying about the score, or worrying about killing myself to make plays, or hit curveballs.

  3. My advice is to remember that baseball is a sport you love. Also, if you stick with it long enough you may just end up playing on a major league team! Hope this helps!

  4. have a friend peg you many times with wiffleballs, or tennis balls. Grab a bat, and tell him to throw them all inside. I had that problem too, just with bats. i'm a catcher and i got hit in the back of the head with a bat, and it knocked me out. Then my friend kept hitting my mask with wiffle ball bats. good luck

  5. O.O...WOW!...dude...same exact situation as me!...this happened to me two years ago...i played 2 more years after that trying to get over that fear...but unfortunatly it didnt work out for me =/...so i ended up quitting...im still a big red sox fan but i just dont love baseball like how i used to...but for you...keep playing...hopefully itll work out for you =]

  6. Just look at getting hit as a free base, not anything you have done.  Try stepping to the back of the batter's box to see if that gives you more room. Maybe you are crowding the plate.  Enjoy the game for what it is, a pastime.  Don't let anything you are doing behind the plate affect your defense.  More than anything, just have fun!!

  7. Dude I got hit in the balls with a baseball. now I have a closed batting stance.

Dont worry I was afraid to. take your time and you will not be afraid of it. after all you can always charge the mound. hahaha

Good luck and stay in the box.
