Im making a peach cobbler and it asks for corn starch I dont have any can I use powderd sugar?

It asks for 1 teaspoon and 1 tablespoon can I just add 2 teaspoons and two tablespoons of powderd sugar instead??

  1. The corn starch is to thicken the peach mixture. Powdered sugar will not achieve the same results. Take little bit of water and moistened flour then add to recipe in place of corn starch. This will thicken your peaches.


  2. It's probably used to thicken the cobbler.  Try some flour or tapioca instead.

  3. Powdered sugar has cornstarch in it, but I don't think it's half and half.  I think it's a lot more sugar than cornstarch.

    I just made peach cobbler today, using this recipe, and it was outstanding.  No cornstarch necessary.
