  1. FAMOUS PIE CRUST

    Makes 2 pie crusts.

    2 cups all purpose flour

1 cup cold crisco shortening (or butter very cold)

    pinch of salt

    4 tablespoons ice water

Mix dry ingredients Cut in shortening with pastry cutter. Add ice water and continue working until dough forms. DO NOT OVERWORK.

I have even used orange juice or apple juice in place of vanilla, extracts and liqueurs work better though.

Almond extract, rum, amaretto, Grand Marnier, framboise, or any of dozens of other extracts, essences, brandies, or liqueurs could stand in for vanilla in certain recipes.

hope this helps.                good luck and enjoy.

  2. You could use like graham cracker crumbs with butter and mold your own crust. Maybe use another type of extract if you don't have vanilla.

  3. LOL

what's a pie without the crust????????????????????

you can't substitue, face it, you're gonna have to buy some

  4. how about graham crackers, mashed up, with butter and sugar

    Ingredients

    1 cup graham cracker crumbs

    1/4 cup butter, melted

1/3 cup light brown sugar or white sugar, for less sweet crust

    Directions

    1-Mix ingredients together.

2-Press onto bottom and up sides of pan until desired size.
