  1. First let's clarify something.  There have been protests, not "riots".  Big difference.  Just stay away from the protest sites and you'll be just fine.


  2. im going in 11 days will it be ok to travel then its our first family holiday out of australia the family are very excited to go  

  3. The riots won't be going on that long. You can stick with your plan and will be safe. The protest do no harm to the public and will be ended in a short period.

It's safe to visit Thailand and never been dangerous.  However due to the protest all train service has stopped.  Airports are open but the protest group said it may close them down again including new information this morning that they may include the Bangkok Airports. I really don't see this going on into October.  However, unless something changes in the next month, I would cancel my trip until another time.
