  1. You can go to a Publix and get there green bags

  2. Just keep the 3 principals in mind. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

    Reduce

Think about what you need, not what you are in the habit of having, take your time to decide what you want. Don't try to adopt the style of the place, if it isn't what you like, you won't be happy with it. You don't have to be a minimalist to reduce the amount of things that you have. Limit the amount of items you have that don't serve a function. Avoid unitaskers, instead look for items that can serve more than 1 purpose.

    Reuse:

Try to work in all of the items you already have. If you have a set of 4 dishes but you want service for 8, try to find a set of 4 that will coordinate with your original set. Use furniture covers or get your furniture reupholstered. I still regret getting rid of the couch I loved several years ago, it worked perfectly but the cloth was worn, so  I donated it and replaced it with a couch that I've never been happy with.

    Recycle

The process goes 2 ways, not just finding new purposes for what you don't need, but to find new purposes for what others discarded. Think vintage, antiques and second hand shops are loaded with great things, you may have to spend some time, but you can find some amazing things. By using 2nd hand items you are saving the energy and resources it takes to make something new.

Don't forget to think energy efficient, sweeping uses less enegy than a vacuum.

A couple great websites for purchasing sources are www.treehugger.com and www.biggreenpurse.com
