Im moving to Philadelphia, does Comcast have excellent customer service?

One problem I've found is they route their calls by caller ID. So if you call from an out of state cell phone to start service, say a Detroit area code, you keep getting routed to Detroits call center. Then it's hard for them to transfer you because you don't have an account # yet, etc etc..

Just wish they didn't do that.

I've had pretty good luck with Comcast so far. Be sure to visit the COmcast Tower in center city. It is very cool.

I had Verizon, and then Comcast, and find that Comcast has been better for me.  And with the specials they have sometimes, it can be pretty cheap.  The only repeated problem that I've had is, whenever I move and have to have Comcast come out, I haven't waited for less than a week and a half to get an appointment.  But other than that, they're not bad.

Sometimes. The nice thing is that customer service calls do not go to India.

Comcast is known internationally for having AWFUL Customer Service...or at least they have in the past.  Taking note of this, Comcast has been getting better, but still leaves a lot to be desired.

That being said, you can call them and almost guarantee great customer service by not being an ****** on the phone, which it seems like they got a lot of.  It's always been my theory that by offering a brief respite from the constant barrage of angry customers, they'll appreciate the opportunity to talk to a human being LIKE a human being, and you'll end up with something out of the deal, even if it's just a pleasant experience.  

Also, with the expansion of Fios Fiber Optics and Verizon in Philly, Comcast is losing customers FAST.  They're more willing than normal to help out customers, even if it means "giving away" packages to more cable programming.
