  1. lived there in the past.  very suburban town with local roads and a main highway that most stores will be on.  not much to do around town for fun, there are a few parks if youre into that. movie theaters a short drive away.  same with a bowling alley. many places to eat along the main highway. lots of chain resturants, fast food, and supermarkets.  middletown is mostly caucasian.  weather ranges from all over.  summer can reach high 90s and winters usually around 10s or 20s.

most residents middle to upper middle class. ive heard taxes are high but i dont pay them lol.  you will need a car to go anywhere, and currently gas around here is around 3 a gallon for regular (i still live around the area).  you will need heating for the winter and i believe heating bills are high at the moment.

    hope that helps!

  2. Here's some websites that should be of help.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middletown_...

This wikipedia article has information on it's history, local government, education and other subjects.

    http://www.middletownnj.org/

And that's the official website, it should have all the information you need, or who you can contact to get it.

  3. i live in jersey ocean county the winter gets chilli sometimes snow .... spring is nice and summer at the jersey shore .... its depends i know rents can be 2200 a month and less it depends what you want jersey is high anyway......

  4. The third poster hit it on the head.  I have family near Sussex and have gone to that area quite a bit.  It's somewhat rural / small town (esp. compared to the rest of NJ) and if you like parks and outdoor activities, it's a great place to be.  I like being up there because I like space and yet you can hop in the car (if you don't mind driving a bit) for more choices in shopping and whatnot.

The cost of living is certainly less than in more populated areas of NJ, but rememeber that property taxes in NJ are still some of the highest in the nation.

Also - it tends to be colder in north Jersey than in the more southern parts of the state, so your heating bills will be higher.

    Good luck!
