wat lies ahead? new friends? wealth? nice people? lovely girls? lol...i hope ile be ok!! im 21 and im going alone, got a flat on westgate road right by the Newcastle united stadium...

I went on a Hen weekend to Newcastle and had a ball it was brilliant loved it, the nightlife was great you will have a fab time, all the best :-)

Welcome to the North-East, England's best kept secret!. As well as Eldon Square shopping centre and the nearby Metro-centre, there are two other cities to discover and explore namely Durham with it's fine Gothic cathedral, and Sunderland which is the largest city in terms of population in the North-east. To the west of the city lies the Tyne valley with it's unspoilt countryside and is home to Hadrian's wall (along with Durham Cathedral a world heritage site.) to the north lies more of Northumberland, where you can visit one of many castles try Alnwick, where scenes for Harry Potter were filmed (and visit the garden) also head west from here and visit Bamburgh , Seahouses , Craster , or perhaps take a boat trip over to the Farne isles to see the puffins. As for Newcastle follow the crowds "doon the Bigg Market" where you will find the largest concentration of pubs clubs etc in the north, for a quieter night head to the leafy suburb of Jesmond which lies just one stop away on the metro from Haymarket station, the Geordies are renound the world over for there hospitality and friendlieness, like other places though it does have bad points, so be streetwise and you'll be okay.You will not struggle to make friends here, From where you will be staying your locals will be The Strawberry opposite the Gallowgate end at St'James Park or Rosie's Bar next to the Chinese Gate leading into Stowell Street and it's Chinese Community..Good luck and welcome to "THE TOON"
