  1. Which country are you from?

  2. You can get trunking from loads of places, like screwfix or toolstation, as well as all the other supplies you need.

But the problem you have is that it is now not permitted for you to rewire your house and it will not meet part P regulations if you do.  You might not mind, but if you come to sell it the buyer will want to see a part P certificate or ask for a reduction for a professional rewire.  I am as frustrated as I think you will be about this as much rewiring is very simple.  The government in its wisdom though is trying to get rid of the idiots who do it wrong and risk fires and electric shocks which kill people.

You might be able to find a professional who will speficy the circuits, let you do a lot of the donkey work, and then they  will test and certify the work.  If you do it without consulting a professional, I am sure you will not get it certified as is, because Part P insists on lots of really silly things.  The ones that I find most irksome are that all switches sockets etc including phone internet etc switches may not be above 1200 mm or below 450 from the floor, so as to be accessible to disabled people.  Of course you may say you are not disabled, but that is now the law, and your rewire will be instantly detectable as a DIY job if you don't do it.   If you do anyhow and then someone gets a shock, you could be liable to prosecution.

I am not saying all this because I am an electrician trying to get work, but it is becoming like the rules for gas plumbing.  Serious penalties.

  3. At any Elecrical dealer or B&Q etc. Buy the self adhesive type or you will have a lot of drilling into concrete to fix the ordinary type.

  4. have you tried plumbase, those trunkings are often used by plumbers to hide piping,,,<^><..

  5. Try www.tlc.co.uk, or any wholesale electrical store (they still sell to retail customers).

  6. why dont you chase down the walls instead of coming up?
