Question:

Im nervous. next year i will be in a performing arts school.?

next year i will start in a performing arts school for highschool. i FINALLY was accepted. i sang for the judges and played piano because those are the two things i will be going for. but i am veryyy nervous about singing in front of people. im good at singing some things and other things im decent. how can i build my confidence without takeing individual lessons?

  1. ALWAYS remember that you made it into the school so you are just as good as the other students.  

    Practice Practice Practice your singing & piano over the summer and you will FEEL as confident.

    Also dress the best and most comfortable that you can b/c that will help you feel great also.  Best of Luck!!!!!


  2. Auditions get better with time and practice.

    I'm sure I bombed many of the first auditions I had. Thankfully, I was competing in piano competitions in elementary school, so I learned how to chill rather early on.

    The best way to practice is playing for other people. You'll build your ability to focus on the music without regard to who is listening. One of my former piano studios had a requirement that each person must play their pieces for two other students each week. It was quite beneficial.
