  1. Yea, its nasty.

  2. I would ask the resturant what their specialty is and then try something new at each place.  My favorite is green chile.  But make sure that it is like a stew and not a sauce.  And don't listen to the people who say its gross.  They just have not had good Mexican food.

  3. when it comes to choosing its starts whith what type dish or meat, if you want a stew/soup or a platter, tostadas

beef- tacos, steak ones are very good, a torta ( mexican sanwich)

chicken- fajitas, they sometimes come on a hot iron griddle to your table , or taquitos ( flautas in spanish) which are tortillas rolled and friedd withe chicken in them and come with sides like beans and rice

sea food- shrimp is big in stew ( in spanish caldo pronounced -kaldo- or a 7 seas caldo  which comes lots of different meats, fish fillet which is breaded and fried

  4. If you want something good try steak pico I sure I spelled it wrong but you'll know it when you see it on menu.

Just where do you come from that you've never had Mexican food.

  5. Go with a chorizo chimichanga.  Chorizo is a nice mexican sausage and a chimichanga fries the tortilla outside.  If its covered in a nice white cheese sauce it will be great.

  6. Authentic Mexican food is pretty bland, so have spices in hand to add to it. I like chicken quesedillas (spelling?) But to be honest, all mexican food tastes pretty much the same (no offense to anyone).

  7. It really depends on the restaurant.

    I'd recommend taquitos al pastor.

Squeeze some lime juice over the meat, the spoon some salsa over it.  Yum.

If the restaurant has tamales in banana leaves, order that.

If you really like seafood, get ceviche.

Their shrimp coctail is usually sweet, and often has orange soda mixed into it.

  8. Enchiladas are the best w/ pico de gallo (minced onions, tomato, cilantro, and jalapenos)

or Chiles Rellenos (green pepper stuffed w/ cheese, hamburger meat, sometimes blackbeas n dipped in egg & fried) usually both plates r served w/ rice n beans
