  1. Just take LT.

    Trust me.

There are many weeks he will be all you need.

With the 1st pick that also means you have the 2nd & 3rd round wrap around.  That is usually a good time to take a good QB - WR combo.  You might be able to get Palmer - Johnson, Cutler - Marshall, or Favre - Jennings there.  The most important thing is to not reach there.  Don't take the #20 ranked running back if the #5 WR is still available.  The "you must take RBs in the first 2 rounds" thing is a little overrated.  But just a little.

Take LT.   Take LT.  Take LT.

(AP has been known to get hurt, LT doesn't)

  2. Running Back.

(also depends on your league, but 80% of the time you shold draft RB first)

  3. I would use the #1 pick on RB Ladanian Tomlinson.  Another piece of advice is be extra well prepared.  Since you have the #1 pick and drafts are serpentine, from the 2nd round on you will be making quick back-to-back picks and a rushed choice can come back to haunt you.  Have your player rankings/cheat sheets ready.

  4. well i always take a RB they are the most point givers but since tom brady is going off the charts again i dont know i would pick tom even though im not a huge fan but just cause he is really good and cause he puts up big numbers.

  5. Since you have the number one pick in your draft your definitely going to want to pick up a running back first. The two players you should be looking at to draft are LaDainian Tomlinson and Adrian Peterson (Vikings not Bears).

  6. Running Back.

    1. LT

    2. S.Jackson

    3. Brady

    etc.

  7. RB unless the scoring is unusual then QB

  8. I say you should pick a QB because Qb get more points and even though you miss out on LT and AP you will have the best Qb in the league and will get you at least 25 points a game. You see what brady did right. Peyton threw about 2 tds and 315 yards a game  thats like 30 points a game while a Runningback will only get you 15-25 points unless on a great game he may give you 30 but on a good game for a QB he may get you 40 points. It may not seem like it but a QB get more points

  9. Always pick an RB first.  They are the most valuable.  In most cases you will want to pick an RB second also, unless Randy Moss or Tom Brady is still available.  They probably won't be.  I think the best strategy is usually RB-RB-WR-WR-WR.  If you're in a league that has a "flex" position (can start either RB or WR), then you should pick something like RB-RB-WR-RB-WR.

  10. always Rb first 2 picks there's always a serviceable QB in the 3rd and 4th round. take LT or AP

  11. The reason why you take a running back over a QB is simple. Running back fantasy value fluctuates way more than QB does. The fact that you start 2 and maybe even 3 running backs makes it even more important.

Manning, who had 335 fantasy points in 2007 is the #2 QB in fantasy. Hasselbeck who had 286 fantasy points is the # 9 QB in fantasy. The difference there is not that much. You have to spend a 2nd round pick on Manning, but the top 10 QBs will stay on the board until the 9th round, making it easy to get one that will produce decent numbers. The fact is that good fantasy QBs are around at round 9-11 where the best running back available then is like Ricky Williams or Fargas.

Also, Brady is not going to get 510 fantasy points in 2008. I can see between 35-40 TDs, but even that is going to be hard to do. If the Pats start running in the red zone then what will you do.

The top 8 running backs are garenteed 10 TDs and LT and AP will have a chance at over 20 TDs. The fact that those outside the top 8 are not garenteed 10 TDs and LT and AP could easily get 20...there's your reasoning to take a running back first overall.

Overall, your going to have at least 2 running backs on your roster and a top 10 QB. Give me LT, Jacobs, and Hasselbeck over Brady, Jacobs, and Bush any day.

  12. take ladanian tomlinson. i then would take a good wr in yer 2nd pick and a qb in yer 3 rd pick. or maybe another rb in yer 3rd pick.

  13. Edit your message and post the points & scoring...more often that not you want the RB; LT or AP.
