Im new to paintball and i have a question. what exactly is a bolt, what does it do, and how do i use it?

If you read the manuel the marker comes with it should tell you all you need to know... In a nutshell the bolt will be the piece that pushes or fires the paintball through the barrel

the bolt pushes the ball from the breach into the barrel.

air travels through the bolt to fire the ball.

its the internal part that touches the paintball.

The bolt pushes the paintball out into the barrel, the bolt has a hallow area that releases the Co2 behind the ball to force it out, and as in using it...if you buy an upgraded one just install it.
