for some reason im just coming up with a blank when it comes to this, its important for us that our family and friends are there on our big day but for some reason when i go to write it out it just sounds horrible or doesnt flow nicely, if anyone has any ideas or examples to get my mind moving that would be great. We are making baskets for each hotel room and are making a brochure of area info, on the inside is where were putting the thank you so it has to be a decent length, not just a few sentences... if you can help thanks!!!

  1. It is with great appreciation that (the "husbands last name" family; for example: the rios family)  thanks you dearly for making it to the wedding ceremony. We hope you've enjoyed the wedding as much as we've enjoyed your presence on this wonderful and life changing day that we chose to share with you, our loved ones. Thanks again for coming and enjoy your stay. To help you all enjoy your stay more than ever, we've made brochures for information on the area and things that you can do while you're here. We hope that you will have a great time!

    Love Always,

                     Your Name & Hubbie's Name.

  2. Thank you so much for comming all this way to share in ou special day. It means so much to us that you would travel all the way here to shre in our love. We hope you enjoy the up comming events and please have a safe trip back.

Just a few ideas. I hope I could help.

  3. Here's what we did for ours-

"In appreciation of you traveling so far to be part of our wedding, we want to make sure you are comfortable during your stay. A lot of preparation has gone in to this wedding, and it would be of little value with out you being here. In case you have any questions, please feel free to call Joe at x*x-x*x-xxxx or Amber at x*x-x*x-xxxx. We thank you for your support and love, and we are very lucky to have each one of you in our lives. It’s very important to us that you share this special moment with us on our wedding day."

It was pretty simple and got the point across, I think. Obviously there may be people from OOT that are not in the wedding, so that wording may be changed to something like-

"In appreciation of you traveling so far to support our marriage, we want to make sure you are comfortable during your stay..."

I got married 4 years ago. I suppose I may have worded things a little differently now, but that's what we came up with.... so I'm sharing it with you in case you can get something from it.

    Have a wonderful wedding... congratulations.

  4. I would write something like this:

    Dear Out of Town Guest:

Welcome to _______!  Words cannot express how much it means for us to have our family and friends with us for our wedding.  To assist with your stay we have created a welcome basket which includes information on local area attractions, maps, a list of contacts and phone numbers, and a schedule of activities we have planned.  Please feel free to participate in as few or as many of the activities as you would like; we just want you to enjoy your time here!

We've also included some goodies as a small token of our appreciation which we hope will make your stay a little more comfortable.

We look forward to spending the weekend with you and seeing you soon!

    Much Love,

    The Happy Couple

Also, I know you are concerned with the language of the card, but really, the fact that you are putting together a welcome basket is such a sweet and thoughtful gesture in and of itself, I'm sure they will just gloss over the words and rip into the basket!
