Im not saying Kobe is by far the best on team USA but dont you think Lebron and Wade know Kobes the man?

Yeah Wade had 27 but most was in the 1st half. Lebron kinda disappeared down the stretch. D Wades three in the forth was from a Kobe assist. Kobe did get Howard bashed on tho. I mean shiited on but he pretty much locked his dude up except off a few screens. Dam Howard got bammed on. Anyways USA did their thing. So did Spain. Mad props. I hope gasol plays like that all yr and in the Finals again this yr in the NBA. Lakers in 2009!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lebron and Wade are tight ballers! Of course they do, Kobe is GREAT. Though, I say Lebron is the best player in the world, and honestly, I don't know if I can say D-Wade is better or worse then kobe, mor assists, quicker imo, and idk.

You Kobe fans are way to biased. All I hear from you guys are Wade is great but only in the first three quarters. Wade kept the USA in the game and helped created the lead. Lebron didn't attempt to take over like other games, he trusted his teammates. Kobe was horrible in the beginning, even the announcers said he took bad shots. Every single quarter and minute counts, not just showing up at the last minute. If everyone showed up in the first place, the game wouldn't have been close at the end. And just because Kobe passed the ball to Wade, doesn't guarantee a three. Wade was not completely open, and he sank the shot when USA needed a bucket badly, stop acting like Kobe made the three for him. Nevertheless, Kobe came through in the end because the whole team trusted and agreed to let him take the big shots, he was terrific. Some Kobe fans need to stop acting like everyone else was afraid to take the shot except Kobe. I am not a Kobe hater, he's one of my favorite players.

Kobe bryant is awesome!

i stayed up all night to watch the game (i'm on the east coast), and it is totally worth it!

Kobe struggled with fouls this game and on his shooting through out the olympics.

But when it really matters, in the closing quarter in the gold medal game, it is Kobe Bryant to the rescue.

The shots, the assists, and then that 4 point play, he was spectecular!

Kobe Bryant is the best player in the world, when it really matters, he is the one they go to, not Lebron, not Wade, not Anthony, but Kobe!

He is truely the man!

Gasol played great, and I think he will keep playing great, Kobe will play great, so will bynum.

My overall opinion is Team USA is finally (FINALLY) back on top for basketball. I just want to congratulate the whole Team USA organization for accomplishing what they set out to do three years ago!! Great job guys!!

That being said, Kobe was the leader of Team USA. Why? Because he's Kobe. What he has done on the basketball court is undeniable. Love him, hate him, don't care either way, Kobe will go down as one of the best of his generation and possibly one of the best of all time. Wade and Lebron have yet to prove they can do what Kobe has done. Though Lebron has made it to the Finals and Wade has a ring, they cannot compete with Kobe's accomplishments. Three rings, international superstar, now the MVP of the NBA...Kobe is a great basketball player. Why did Team USA go to Kobe with the gold medal game on the line? Duh. Because he is KOBE!!

But...without Lebron, without Wade, without Bosh, and let's please not forget J Kidd, Coach K, and the rest of the Team USA organization, without these guys, Team USA does not have gold, possibly not a medal at all. The greatest thing about Team USA winning the gold is they did it as a TEAM. Team first, team last. It went 1-12 for that team. As D-Wade said in his post-game interview, "It was never about the name on the back of the jersey. It was about the three letters on the front of the jersey."

Why did Colangelo pick these twelve guys and not twelve different guys? Because these guys SACRIFICED for the better of the team in order to accomplish a specific task of winning a gold medal. It's not easy to pick twelve multi-millionaires to come in, put ego aside, and play with each other. This was a TEAM accomplish, and those twelve guys redeemed the true meaning of TEAM USA.

Kobe's a great player. No denying that. But without the other eleven, along with a great coaching staff, no gold.

I think they know Kobe at the end of the day is the go to guy. In the final game down the stretch It was Kobe, Kobe and more Kobe. He made big shot after big shot. Plus him being older there is probably that vet respect factor going on.

None of this taking away from Dwade who played great throughout the olympics.

Yeah, they know Kobe's the man alright. It looked as though the team got scared except for Kobe. They fed him the ball as if saying "No, man. You take it." Kobe took them and made enough of them to help the U.S. get the win. Great performance by a great player.

I wouldn't say all that now. D-Wade kept them in the game and Kobe did show a lot of heart by scoring 13 in the 4th quarter. But he took shots that D-Wade would've easily taken too. Kobe was aggressive but D-Wade showed all-around skills by being in the passing lanes and getting steals. D-Wade plays like D-Wade. Kobe tries to hard to imitate a certain someone. D-Wade led the team in scoring from the bench. The bench! Kobe is the man in China and Los Angeles. Lebron is the face of the NBA and D-Wade is a champion and MVP of the Finals (Shaq was not much of a factor and D-Wade took over by averaging 37 a game). Kobe rode on Shaq's back and won 3 titles w/Shaq. He was shut down in the Finals so I think that, when healthy, D-Wade is just as much the man as Kobe is.
