Im off to Torremelinos for my holls...?

Question

I was really looking forward to it but i have spoken to a few people and they say 'oooooo bit of a sh*t hole that, what you going there for!'

Has anyone been and can give me your review of the Costa Del Sol?

It's what you make of it.  I went for a 4 day break with my husband.  Mid Week - mid August.   Hotel was kind of stuck in 70's but clean and comfortable and food was fine.  Town is quite pretty in parts - quite new in others.  Beach is stunning.  I've been all over, lived in Spain for 6 months when I was younger (in the 1980's).  It's what you make of it.  It's much much better now than it was then.  It was a bit of a sh*t hole then.  It's not now.  Very high rise, very crammed in.  But clean and even in high season we saw no problems.

Go on your hols and enjoy.  If you get somewhere you 100% love you are lucky - and it will be different the next time you go.

If you go with an open mind and a willingness to accept that not everyone does things your way, you will never have a bad holiday.

it is not a s.. hole it is a lovely place you cannot beat costa Del sol San Migel street for shopping beaches clean have a lovely time I wish I was going

It ok, i went to fuengorola.....about 20 mins from Torremelinos. Go to www.tripadvisor.co.uk and search the hotel, place or country you are agoing and there will be reviews from people who have been inc pics

It's just very British, lots of English breakfasts etc.  There are lots of places to visit up and down the coast each day if you want to - accessible on public transport.  In fact, for me, it would not matter where I stayed on the Costa Del Sol I would want to day trip out most days anyway.  Nowhere on the Spanish coast will compare to the Caribean, but who cares? - it's a holiday in the sun, a change of scenery.
