okay first off this is my mother in law asking... here she goes....

I am on 0.5 mg of Xanax twice daily, 4 mg of Risperdal once a day, 150 mg of Zoloft once a day, 0.625 mg of premarin a day, and then i also take 40 mg of lisinapril once a day, and a water pill to go on top of it... I really would like to get off of my medication, and when i talk to my doctor, he tells me that he can no longer help me... and i cannot afford to go to the mental health clinic... but i do need to get off of these pills.... i have been on them since i was 21 and im 51 now... they have completely taken over my life, i am a nervous wreck and the pills no longer help me.... i just want to live a normal life... can i just stop them cold turkey? or how would you suggest stopping? thanks for any advice!

  1. NO please don't stop cold turkey. I've done this with some ssris and wanted to kill myself. It will take you out of reality, and it was only after a few months. Tell your doctor you don't want to take them, but you have to do it Very gradually to get off so withdrawl and all dosent set in. Good luck, but talk to a professional about it. They really screwed you by putting you on so much medecines, that **** sucks. They just try to pedal out drugs to make the money. Natural **** can do it just as well but it wouldnt make them money. It's a F'ed up business and sorry for all they have put you through. Talk to the doctor, and see what they say. Good luck again.
