Im on methadone for sever pain..was prescribed 30 mgs..10 every 7 hrs?

it makes me stay up,,so i just took 5mgs at 3 aday = 15mgs aday..now i need a increase any experts have any advice how to up the dose by 5mgs..still under the 30 mg that im to be at..

If it is interfering with your sleep then why not increase your morning dose to 10mg. then try 5mg for your middle and night dose. You can buy a pill splitter if you want to cut a 5mg. into 2.5mg and divide it between 2 doses. As long as your not exceeding your dose you can try different combinations till you get one that works. Also, don't try more than 10mg at one time without a doctors approval . If the first suggestion doesn't work you could also try taking the 5mg dose every 4hours which would = 30mg also.  Good luck.
