  1. When you practice just put as much effort as you can into everything. When a coach says do it fast go really fast. If you try your hardest at everything then you will improve. And try to go to every practice or as many as you can. With freestyle make your stroke really agressive and alternate breath (don't just breath to one side, breath on both sides) and kick hard. With breaststroke don't pause your arms when you breath. With backstroke get a good, deep armstroke and kick hard. With butterfly work on keeping low in the water and getting your head position right. Do good turns and streamlines. Good Luck!

  2. help improve your stroke by doing long distance sets with paddles and your kick by doing sets with fins. youll see major improvements

  3. Practice hard every day! Do big open strokes on freestyle. Always ask ur coach on what you can work on!

  4. The tips are simple, practice.  There are no tricks to being fast, just a lot of hard work.  Always work on technique first, endurance second and speed third.  A lot of swimmers neglect the underwater dolphin kick but if you put a lot of effort into that, you can gain an advatage over other swimmers.

  5. Do 4 rounds of 10 push ups, and 50sit ups daily (most people wont so you'll be one up on that!). if you want to make those rounds longer or adjust them a bit... go for it! Running helps with swimming as well, try and run a mile every day if possible.

    -Turns

ask your coach to help you a bit on your turns, help you prefect them and make the flip fast!

(for I'M open turns remember this: elbow your brother phone your mother! ha ha)

    - Breathing

breathe every three or five strokes. Anything less than that will hurt your technique and can cause your shoulders to hurt and taking all those breaths will make you very tired, very fast.

    - more on the stroke technique

    six beat kick

    breathing every three

    long smoother strokes

Kick out - five, big, powerful kicks off the wall... if not more

most of all push yourself during practice! It's okay to feel tired and worn out while you practice... that's a good thing! You might have sore muscles after practice but that's a great thing as well, it means you pushed yourself! Try and make practices every day because the more you get into shape the better you become.
