  1. All we would hear would be a little thump. We wouldn't even feel it.You sure would though.

  2. you have to know the answer is of course no

we would not even feel it

I run over deer almost every night, they weigh about as much as an average person, usuallay we feel nothing, and maybe hear the bones crunching as they roll underneath the train.

I have hit cattle and horses and moose, those animals weigh over a thousand pounds and cant derail a train.

  3. Give it a try but make sure you have a friend video it and put it on you tube

  4. Your arm, or even your whole body for that matter, couldn't derail a train in a million years! Cars are rarely enough to derail trains. The train would literally amputate your arm, right there, in front of your eyes!

  5. you would not even make a bump,,not the slightest. If the operator did not see it ,,they would not even know.

  6. nope but you wouldnt have an arm

  7. No arm, definitely.  Possibly you'd be steak tartare, too.  Does your insignificant little mind think that your body weight could derail a locomotive that weighs around 200 tons?  I spent too many years picking up parts of people who removed themselves from the low end of the gene pool; somewhat like you're advocating.

  8. Well, I was just on a train that ran over a man. Let's just say that there was an arm here and a leg there and the rest was not recognizable. I guess the answer to your question is no!! When the wheel hit him it was just like if you took a knife and cut a piece of thread. You don't hear it or feel it in the cab of the locomotive at all. All in all it's not a pretty sight, and not a good feeling to now that you just killed someone, even though there is nothing you can do if someone is on the tracks and your going any speed at all. You just cannot stop!!!!

  9. The sound is more like "fwwwitt..." than "bump."  The people on the train wouldn't hear or see a thing.

  10. Arm gone.

If lucky, it'll be a straight across amputation, which is the good news.  The wheels don't "slice"an appendage off, but rather crushes it off.  In these instances, there is usually little bleeding, the ends of the veins and capillaries being crushed closed.

If a more lengthwise cut, then bleeding is profuse and you'll have about enough time to make your peace with the Man.

Many times, a person will be "rolled up."  It is just as its name suggests.  The unlucky (usually foolish) one is rolled along the ground as the wheels slice a body up just like a meat slicer in your favorite deli.

Other times people are struck by a train moving at very high speed, such as passenger trains in the north east of the US where they are running 125 mph.  In this instance, the body usually pops open like squeezing a grape between your fingers.

I know of one instance where a teenager was knocked clean out of his shoes, which remained where he had been standing before being hit.

People or animals don't usually derail trains.  I rolled up a cow a few years back and we turned him into bologna.

However, I am told that a pig's hide can be tough enough to derail a train and that it has in fact happened, but, that may have been from a switch-man doing nothing more than flappin' his lips in a switch shanty.  Maybe that's one for the "Mythbusters."

  11. no it would be like hitting a bug ///

  12. no you would be squished and squashed like a bug

  13. Imagine 100 tons of locomotive going over someone lying on the track.

Now imagine what's left of them afterwards.

Reminds me of that old Paratroopers' song about the Sergeant who was the last to jump and the first to hit the ground, because he'd forgotten his parachute.

'They scraped him off the runway like a lump of strawberry jam......'

    'nuff said.

  14. your arm would close shut from the weight it would be like a ziploc bag. i've heard of not even seeing blood afterwards
