Im out of ferret food and im worried cause i know ferrets cant go long w/o food. is there any alt. foods?

i dont have alot in the household food wise and the closest pet store or any store for that matter is quite a ways away and i wont be able to go there until almost a week considering im still at the mercy of my parents driving me. is there any alternatives in the household i could use for food i know ferrets cant go long without food and im very worried

tell them the vet bill will cost more than the food. its worth a try. i have a ferret for three years and ran out of food a couple of times. i had to replace a meal or two with something eles. try  bannas ,tuna boild ,egg ,torn up meat with a very small amount mayo she wouldnt eat without it. i wouldnt feed more than two spoonfuls of any of this. it will change there poo. this is not good for them at all.cat or kitten food would be better. maybe you can save allowance to stock up extra food so i doesnt happen again.sorry for spelling can't find the checker for some reason.

cat food can substitute for 2-3 days but no more than that since it will throw off their diet, you can also use fish, salmon, or any meat for that matter because they need more protein than carbs which is why u shouldnt give them like crackers

you can also look up duk soup, its a special food that you can make at home, its usually for sick ferrets but that can substitute too, please, stock up on food when u go, i go to the pet store 3 times a week and when i get ferret food i get 5 7 pound bags and when im down to my last one i get more

and btw, if ur parents are big enough a.s.sholes that they wont take u to the pet store for FOOD for your pets that they NEED then they are selfish jacka.s.ses that need to be bitchslapped, i mean how would they feel if they were the ferrets?! (hey guys sry i cant feed you your normal food for a week, my parents wont get the food) i mean wtf

ferrets cannot go more than fours hours without food without it causing some pretty serious health issues. if you have kitten food, try that. they may take to cat food. canned food won't work, simply because they'll need to eat too often...unless you plan on hanging around and opening up a new can every 3-4 hrs.

but be aware that many ferrets will not change food, especially this quik. they will turn their nose up at it and not eat, even when hungry. THIS CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN. you cannot wait out a ferret and assume it will eat when it is hungry. remember, they can't go more than four HOURS without eating something. their metabolism is just too fast - food goes from mouth to litter box in about three hours.

do whatever it takes to get their food. beg, borrow, steal - okay, don't steal, lol, but bribe or cry or do whatever it takes to get it. if your parents will not take you to the pet store, find someone who will or who'd be willing to stop their on their own to pick it up.

i really don't mean to sound harsh, but if your lifestyle cannot get them the basic care they need, like food, then perhaps this isn't the pet for your house. this is a high-maintenance creature whose regular care is very important to their life and well-being.

Cat or kitten food should be okay until you get more ferret food. But you should really get to the store asap and stock up on food!!
