I want to know if I can get around losing my permanent resident status because ive been out of Canada for a year now, but i have all my family and grown children in canada.

My current small children are dual citizens. Should I even attempt to return to Canada as a citizen? What will they do at the airport/border crossing. Has anyone had any real experience with this???

  1. if ur PR card still valid its ok you can re- enter.Otherwise you can contact the immigration office and they will help you. I was out of country for one and a half years and returned and its ok

  2. First off your a resident not a citizen.  They changed the required length that you have to stay in Canada so you still have not exceeded that.  Just make it aware that you are returning and not visiting.  Lots of people are good at scamming their resident requirements you should have no problem.....Canada has no backbone what so ever so you will just go right through and can laugh at the joke it really is.

  3. No there is no reason why you can't get back in after all you a permanent resident .Good luck and have a great day

  4. If your PR card is still valid that's all you need to show when entering Canada
