  1. Go to the library and get a book or two on wedding planning.  People who can help you are: the Pastor, the florist, the caterer, and your mom's best friend who has been to many many weddings but you never thought to ask her because she's an older lady.

  2. Try visiting this online forum http://www.weddingcup.com. Since it is focused on wedding, you have a better chance to find your answer there. This is a common place for couples and wedding professionals to exchange their ideas. You can search for similar question, post your questions there or chats with others who seek the same interests.

    good luck!!

  5. If you go to a bookstore and peruse the wedding section, there are a lot of "planning" types of books that can help you remember all those little details, places for receipts, appointments, etc.  I also kept a spreadsheet of our budget as well as the guest list.  Oh, and www.theknot.com is great too! You can register and it gives you reminders of when to do things and has lots of lists and helpful hints and stuff.  Just try to have fun and not to stress.  It will be beautiful no matter what happens.

  6. Here's the compete guide on wedding --> http://weddingreceptiondecorationidea.co...

  7. The answers you have received are all helpful. Organization is absolutely your key ingredient for success. The average wedding entails 250+ hours of planning.

    There are tons of great books and websites (I suggest, www.weddingchannel.com, www.theknot.com and www.realsimple.com) out there for you to study, however, being that you are so new to this, you may want to consider consulting with a wedding coordinator/planner.  They can help you with everything or just certain parts - the right coordinator can be invaluable.  (Make sure you interview 2-3 and check references.)

    They can help you establish a budget and to-do list and give a great start if you prefer to handle all the planning yourself.  You may also find it very useful to consider hiring a coordinator for month-of or day-of services.

    Best of luck!!
