  1. have a cup cake birthday cake. the tiers of cupcakes for guests to eat instead of 1 big cake

make giant lollipops for decorations- styrofoam circles wrapped in shiny plastic or fabric get wooden dowels to stick the circles on and stick them in the ground

make a pinata shaped like a hershey kiss- fill with yummy candy

  2. Candy theme: Pink tablecloths, pink and white balloons. Make candy bouquets for the tables with short wide mouth vase from the dollar store. Fill 1/3 with peppermint disks. Buy colorful lollipops and put in the vase. Make another one t he same but use candy sticks instead like cherry, lime, etc. You can attach bows to each one with a favor card that says your initial, 16 or thanks for coming to my sweet 16 and then after the party give them out as favors. Get personalized M and Ms to put in small favor bags. Get personalized hershey bar wrappers and little personalized stickers that go on the bottom of hershey's kisses. Buy plate size styrofoam 3 inch thick rounds and wrap in clear cellophane for a big hard candy decorations. you could put a wood dowel in one to make it a sucker. Play twister. For favors those candy necklaces, bracelets ands ring pops and candy lipsticks.

For invitations buy heart shaped swirl lollipops and attach a pretty bow and a card that has all your invite information on it or attach a candy themed invite you buy at the store and hand them out as invites.

  3. There's LOTS you can do!

First, you can have an ice cream bar, get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and LOTS of different toppings from sprinkles to candies.  Go to the dollar store and get those glass/plastic tall sundae dishes and have an ice cream bar.

Then for not a lot of money, you can get a gumball machine, just make sure to have pennies for your guests, and fill it up and scatter the machines around the party for them to get the gumballs.

Get those candies that are on paper, they're called button candies they are round and stuck to white paper, wrap them around napkins and use them as napkin rings.  You can also do this with those ring pops, the ones that look like diamond rings/pacifers, but you'll have to take them out of their wrapper and put them around the napkins for napkin rings.

At each setting put a candy necklace and bracelet for each guest to wear.

For the centerpieces, you can get clear glass vases and get either m&m's, or gumballs and put them in the bottom and then get those huge lollipops and have them sticking out of them, so that's the centerpiece, the candy and the lollipops.

Get a cotton candy machine, you can rent them, and also a popcorn machine.  It will be lots of fun to have pillows of cotton candy around!

The m&m's website lets you pick your colors and personalize m&m's, you can pick some colors and your name and that it's your sweet 16 put on the m&m's.  You can make that your favors that your guests bring home in a cellphane baggie.

Decorate in bright colors like bright pink, white, bright blue, etc.  You want it to be bright like a sweet shop or ice cream store!

You can have little pails or glass jars of candy scattered all around the party for your guests to pick at all night. You can get streamers and balloons, they have a lot of impact for not a lot of money.  You can also tie some candy to these.

If you want, do a pinata!  It is a sweet theme afterall and they do hold candy!  Get one in the shape of candy!  You and your friends can have fun taking turns at it, but I would get the one where you have to pull the string to get it open otherwise, the guys, will have it open in swing.  LOL

You can also base some of the music on sweets, pick some music with sweet or candy or with the name of the candy in it's name.  Of course, NOT all the music will be like that, but some of it can be.

Go to your local candy stores and sweet shops for ideas.  There's a website of store here in NY, called Dylan's candy bar and the website is:  Dylanscandybar.com and check out her site and see if you can get some ideas.  I believe she has pictures of her store on there, even if you get ideas of colors.  I wouldn't do reds and greens, I would do bright, fun colors!

I hope some of these ideas helped!  Have a great party and Happy Sweet 16!
