  1. No, fasting doesn't work for acne.  Try Proactive, you can find it at the mall or rush delivery on line, or Neutrogena from CVS or any other pharmacy.  Don't starve yourself, its incredibly unhealthy. a week of proper facial cleansing should work wonders

  2. Ok well the first thing i want to say is that you should never fast unless its of your religion. Honestly fasting will not help with your acne problem. And ecspecially if you are going to play a soccer game with 45 minute halfs you would have a great risk of passing out and shouldnt risk that. I suggest that you try a face wash. Like Proactive, Clean and Clear Stridex pads, and Oxy Pads. And the only thing that i would suggest with the whole fasting/not eating thing is not eating as greasy food and staying healthy.

  3. I do not suggest fasting when you are about to play a sport. One thing you can try is looking up Colloidal Silver remedies on the internet for acne. You have the right idea, the best way to help prevent acne is diet. You may also want to go to your local health food store (they should sell colloidal silver too) and look into detoxification products, ones that do not require you to fast while you are playing sports are best. You can go the fasting way after soccer season ends but again, I do not recommend fasting when your body will need the energy to perform at it's peak level.

    Good luck my friend.

p.s. there is a difference in starving your self and fasting. Make sure when you fast you try to provide what your body needs to function, like water, salt, and vitamins. Also, the fasting for one day a week isn't really effective. Your body will be going through more undue stress than needed. Try 1-2 days a month or even farther apart, depending on your physical conditioning and body fat content.

There are some excellent books on the net about fasting.

  4. well if you are eating (fruits and veges) and drinking its good i've fasted for days at one time and ate nothing but water and i was fine and if you are eating fruit to give you nutrients its good and even if you weren't to eat anything you probley would still have energy.

  5. first of all, there is no proof that fasting or cleansing your system will help with acne.

acne is caused when the pores of the skin become clogged with oil and dirt, and then become irritated. if you've ever popped a bad pimple and seen pus (the white stuff), its because there were white blood cells there to fight the infection.

the best way to care for your skin is to wash when you wake up and before bed with a simple acne cleanser. (ex: neutrogena's line of orange acne products.)

do NOT wash too often or your skin will dry out and flake. if you find it useful, use a facial cream after washing made specifically for acne treatment and hydration without adding extra oil to the surface of the skin.

if you find it useful, you can see a dermatologist. just let your parents know you would like some extra information about skin care, not necessarily that you feel your acne is terrible, because they might not think it looks too bad, and ignore your feelings.

secondly, when your body is starved of protein (in meats, beans, etc) it has less power over time. just as sugar gives a strong burst of energy, proteins help the body keep up the energy over a period of time.

fasting while doing heavy exercise will cause you (a) lose energy and not play your best and (b) may give you hunger cramps and cause you to lose your concentration on the game.

I would recommend using products and/or seeing a dermatologist to take better care of your skin, rather than changing the nutrition a young man at your age needs.
