You can because it searches out which region you are in.

So, if you are in China then you will be playing games against Chinese people, so I hope you can speak Mandarin!

If you are in America then you are hooked up to the North American network so you will mostly get English.

There is a way to connect to different regions so I would call the Sony help line and ask them to guide you through that setup. The answers before are somewhat right, the world wide web is all connected but like I said, it does depend on where you are.

yes you can unlike xbox which it may be hard to you should be able to because it has dedicated servers for the network but with xbox you connect to each other hope i helped
