  1. Never been myself but a friend that lives there loves the area around Geneva - Zurich is just more like all the other capital cities in the world - which are all becoming more alike.

Of course - it depends what interests you most really!

  2. zuric is a beautiful place and many places to visit whereas Geneva  has a fountain as main attraction

  3. Why don't you go to both places....I believe it is not very far. There is a train from Zurich to Geneva . Don't miss the opportunity to explore. Switzerland is a lovely country.

  4. Both cities have an escense of their own....if u r in Switzerland...u shud not think about attractions coz Switzerland is best experienced by its natural beauty....but if u still want to go in for the city with more attractions the it surely is Geneva ... it has the Jardin d'Anglais,Jet d'Eau and others which are not striking me rite now...however ull have more fun in Zurich....compare and check out on

  5. Geneva is prettier - right in the mountains and on Lake Geneva. They speak French rather than Swiss German which may be helpful if you speak French.

Zurich is a city with a few problems, including drugs among the youths. I don't like it anything like as much as Geneva.

  6. Just remember they dont take euros or most places will charge a premium if you use a credit card and also its very expensive

  7. Hi.

It would be good to speak a little bit French if you go to Geneva (its the French part so this makes it much easier for you- sometimes they speak just French). Lucerne or Berne are more beautiful than Geneva or Zurich (but thats just my own opinion - I am Swiss/German). Zurich is good for shopping (Bahnhofstrasse and so on). But Lucerne or Berne (old town Berne= UNESCO cultural heritage) have a very nice old town. If you go in September or October it will not be that touristy. Lucerne is located at the Vierwaldstaettersee and you can make a paddle steamer trip or go on a mountain (Rigi, Pilatus, Stanserhorn....). Zurich is situated at lake "Zuerichsee" but the higher mountains are not really in the near of Zurich. Geneva has a nice old town and the French flair, situated at Lake Geneva and the alps are not that far away.

I would prefer Geneva, Berne or Lucerne.

And: Berne is the capitol of Switzerland.

  8. I was in same situation before but I 've booked my flight for late August for Geneva as many of my friends and cyber friends suggested me for Geneva. So I think, go for Geneva . .

    Have good trip !!!

  9. i would say geneva. i used to live there and its a wonderful place. the lake is beautiful. and you might get there in tome for the fete de geneve. its a fair along both sides of the lake. they have the best rides. also ts very close to france so you can take a day trip there.
