Im sure he is i fed him and he didnt even see the food he swam right by it, he is following the shape of the tank right up against the glass, and i also did the mirror test. and nothing. i also put my finger in front of him b.c i know he hates when i do that and still nothing and i made my finer follow him to make sure and still nothing. iis there any cure? how will i be able to feed him? is he pretty much doomed? about how long till he dies? should i just let him die? what should i do its the first blind betta ive ever owned.

  1. get him a swamp plant they can still feel and he'll go in there and eat it.

  2. well first of all, don't let it just die

    at least try soemthing

  3. I don't know what to say.... I never knew that betta could go blind.... Whatever happens, I know you were a good owner :')

  4. Betta fish tend to get blind when they get older. Mine did in one eye and died 6 months later. I fed it some sort of plant that he could eat the roots and get food. Sorry, I forgot what kind of plant it was. You should research and see what you can do. What ever you do, give some effort and don't let him just die. You wouldn't like it.

    Good luck!

  5. If you just got him or changed tanks he may not be eating because of stress. Or you may be overfeeding him. Wait 2 or 3 days then try to feed him again. After that feed only once per day.
