I know they say you shouldn't eat cold cuts when you are pregnant. Is one sandwich going to hurt me? I need it badly

  1. nothing dangerous about cold cuts when pregnant. These meats are cooked, just cold

  2. You will be fine. My roommate ate cold cuts ALL the time and her and the baby are just fine!!!

  3. I think that with anything food, moderation is key.  One sandwich should not hurt anything, but if you ate cold cuts every day of your pregnancy there might be a problem.

  4. Ha ha ha people come up with the funniest things about pregnancy!!! You can definatly eat cold cuts!!!! As long as your not eating raw meat...or fish your fine! Stay away from the tuna though! Yummy sandwich sounds good right now!

  5. I've never heard that eating cold cuts wasn't good for a pregnant woman!  If you're otherwise healthy it shouldn't matter at all.  The meats are fully cooked and ready to eat.  What you shouldn't eat is anything that you know you are allergic to, no matter how much you may want it.

If you are really concerned ask your OB/GYN don't rely on "old wives tales".

  6. I am not sure where people come up with these strange tips. You can eat whatever you wish, same as you do when not pregnant. You should however, limit caffeine and sodium intakes or foods that are high in mercury like some fish. You can eat cold cuts during pregnancy. No harm to you or baby. You need to always maintain heathy eating habits when pregnant or not. That means well balanced meals lots of fruit and veggies, low fat, low sodium, extra calcium.

  7. most likely you will be fine as long as the coldcuts are fresh! I know people that ate deli meat throughout their pregnancy.

If you are concerned, try making a calzone. Easy to make and delicious!! Just get some pizza dough, roll it out so it is longer rather than totally round and put in your deli meat and cheese, roll up, and bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes or until dough is lightly browned and enjoy! The heat will kill any listeria that may be on the meat.

you may also be craving salt. try a sandwch, maybe grilled chicken with cheese and pickles. (pickles have salt)

  8. Really? Who says no sandwiches? I was pregnant twice and ate a ton of turkey sandwiches. I have two very healthy boys, they are not 'sandwich hurt.' lol. I know there are a million opinions out there of what you can and can't do, but I generally feel just relax. Enjoy your pregnancy, and try not to over-stress. Seriously if you asked your ob-gyn, I am sure they would ok a sandwich or 2. Good Luck.

  9. I feel very sorry for you..

there are freaky people out there with wild ideas and bigoted opinions that are just plain lies

    Cold cuts are basically sausage..

    forget the nonsense

I have not added Subway or Quiznos to my favorites folder.

I will see if I can find their nutritional info..
