Im pretty sure my cats sick, but with what?

Question

when he meows his voice gets all crackly. and when he sleeps i hear his breathing all crackle too. I'm sure he breaths fine. but he just makes noises. it just started today and were probably taking him to the vet wednesday or friday when my moms gets paid. but should i be super cautious? or can gets get bronchitis and he might die if i wait that long? my pets have never gotten sick even when i had a dog for 17 years, if she didn't escape from the yard I'm sure she'd still be breathing today that dog never ever got sick or anything.

I think thats normal.. Some cats just breathe really loud, thats what my cats do, and some cats voice just crack when they meow. If you think somethings wrong though, take him to the vet just to be sure.

Just watch for signs of runny eyes, runny nose and if your cat goes off its food and water then I would most certainly be prepared to visit your vet as planned the latter part of the week if not sooner.  Cats can get sore throats as well, with no other symptoms visible to our eye.  If your cats voice continues to be raspy (or crackly) and as I said he stops eating or drinking and becomes lethargic be ready to go to the vet.

Could be contagious.  Definitely NOT normal.  Could be an upper respiratory disease (like a cold in humans).  Keep him away from other cats in your house.  When you go in to the vet, let them know that you have a possible URI case, since they'll need to keep you isolated from other felines, as well.
