  1. wtf??? joe m, animals were not put on this earth for food

  2. There are quite a few great resources that you can find on the peta site.  No matter how you feel about the peta group itself, I really think they've got the best resources in one spot.

    http://www.peta.org/

  3. i really love how non vegetarians come on the vegetarian food forums to give advice, haha...  You can type vegan in to google and it will give you all sorts of information about becoming vegan.  There is a great book called "How it all vegan" which is helpful.  Good for you on this decision, and I praise you for taking your time and going slowly. Animals are bred for our consumption now because it is a lucrative industry.  There are all sorts of hormones and bacteria that we don't know about in our meat and dairy products, so that billionaires can maximize the efficiency of their product at the expense of the consumer's health.  There are websites that will even send you vegan starter packs!

  4. yes veggietarian food is healthier- just watch the jamie oliver show- where the chickens are pumped with soo much growth hormones and antibiotics its unbelievable. the reason they do this is because people want cheap good quality plump chicken breast.

I think you should google your questions and try do a bit of research yourself, but its good to get other peoples views too. Go to the local chemist and ask them what vitamins you should be taking- they would be the ones qualified to know. But most veggietarians take iron supplements - or you can eat lots of spinach, watermelon, beetroot (these are loaded with iron, great for veggies :D) also you may be low on protien, so try and eat lentils, chickpeas, tofu etc Personally i think its better that you try be natural rather then depend on pills to get your vitamins etc. You can also get a good source of vitamins from fresh fruit juices - tastes great too!

Since you wont have time to cook for yourself, Im sure you can spare two hours in one week! Use that time to precook lots of meals and let it cool and just freeze it. this way you would have meals done for the rest of the week. Like make veggie muffins (can get artificial egg enhancers or just use self raising flour!) in the muffins add grated carrot, gratted potato, spinach, salt and some spices for flavour. doesnt take long to make either :D make lots of pastas, stir frys, theres alot of vegetarian indian curries you can make (since you dont want to take dairy anymore you can put coconut cream in your curries if you want?) So just try and get a wide variety of recipies and cook for yourself that way you wont be bored of vegan food!

    gd luck

  5. Just ask yourself why you want to be vegan. What's the point? You eat fish. You've eaten meat for years. Why stop? These animals have been bred for food. It's the sole purpose of their existance. If you want B vitamins take some pills. It's really easy. Or eat a bowl of cereal... But eating a good serving of meat is the most natural, simplest way. The way God intended.
