I’m ready to go for the third Test, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ST-Finn-c2566 – Cricket News Update
Declaring himself fit for the 3rd Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SCJ-Broad-c2465 after his successful recovery from a thigh injury.
After taking four wickets in a Performance Programme match against D Y Patil Sports Academy, Finn bowled two spells in the nets at Eden Gardens on Monday morning, without any worrying signs.
“If I'm needed on Wednesday, then I'll be ready to go. I feel in good rhythm. I'm in a good place,” said Finn.
The fast bowler missed out in the first two Tests against India at Ahmedabad and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 will play on another “used” pitch at Eden Gardens, which was confirmed after revelations by the ground curator, Prabir Mukherjee.
Expected to provide more assistance to the spinners than the pace attack, England might opt to go into the game with just two front-line seamers.
“If I'm picked as part of a two-man seam attack, I might be used in a strike-bowling capacity. There is a little bit of pressure, but you don't change your plans or the way that you bowl. Just because you're being used as a strike bowler doesn't mean you start bowling bumpers and yorkers all the time searching for wickets. You still have to have a degree of patience and use your skills wisely,” added Finn.
Failing to strike even once in the first two games, Broad is likely to hit the benches for the third Test as his lacklustre form has been worrying the management. Bowling at a slower place, with an escalating economy rate, Broad has disappointed his fans and critics.
However, backing the 26-year-old fast bowler, Finn believes Broad will come out strong and bounce back given the sort of world-class player he is.
However, the speedster still has the support of his teammates and the bowling coach. If there is a change in tactics for England, requiring three seamers in the near future, Broad will most likely make the cut.
