Im really confused about this Girl Thing?

Question

so me and my mom were having like the s*x talk... and i started my period about 1 or 2 ago but i never really new what it was all about... and now she told me... its when your body releases the egss and when it doesnt get fertilized your body gets rid of it and thats your period... i think thats what she said... is that right...

and if thats right then is the blood from my period the blood that would be my baby if the egg was fertilized... is that a baby...

No, the blood is just from shedding the lining of your uterus, which is where the egg would implant if it had been fertilized. You grow a new lining every cycle. A human egg cell is only about 1 millimeter around, so you will never notice that when it passes out of the body.

It's not a baby if it hasn't been fertilized, any more than an unfertilized chicken egg is a chicken. It's just an egg cell, and you have about half a million more where that came from.

An egg and a sperm make a fetus, not just an egg.

If it isn't fertilized (as it should be at your age) it's just an egg. Therefore it's nowhere close to a baby.

the blood is the walls of ur uterus build up a reserve of blood no its not what the baby would be and no u wont bleed out the blood just helps ur body move the egg the egg is just a clear cell when fertilized the cell multiples and grows the baby the cells women have that make kids r kinda like a stem cell but non fertilized the reason most womens periods stop when the get pregnant is cause the exess blood goes to the baby

no.. it would be half your blood and the guys blood.. the uterus is the part that carries the baby.. when the eggs are not fertalized the uterus has nothing to hold and it breaks down into your period...

What your mom told you is correct. However, the blood is yours, not for baby. When it is fertilized, in the initial stages, its only egg with cells growing into shape of baby in preprogrammed way genetically. Baby will start having blood and heart beat after few weeks after fertilization. Its natural to loose blood and recover every month.
