  1. I'm scared too! Help ME!

Btw....it's all psychological, because it actually hurts less than most shots do.  Kinda like a pinch - hurts for a minute or two, and then is a bit sore for a week (depending on what you're stung by).

    But, on a pain scale of 1 to 5 (5 being most painful)...it's about a 1.

However, like you, I'm still scared as h**l of them.  I think if one of them got stuck in the car with me, I'd probably wreck my car and die in the car accident because I'd be freaking out so much.  Which makes no sense, because as I said - it doesn't even hurt that much to get stung.

I blame it on the media. (j/k)

  2. I personally do not mind bees, but I do hate wasps, which is due to two things: my mother's hysteria toward them, and my being stung by them, especially one time. That time I was walking through the woods (not on the road) with my brother and sister, and apparently I stepped in a nest or something, as suddenly a lot of wasps were after me, and stinging me everywhere, especially in my head. I ran back to our forest house, where my father sat in the garden, and he had to keep hitting me on the head with his flat hands as there were wasps stuck in my hair, which was pretty long. Not a pleasant experience.

    By the way, Wikipedia says:

"Solitary bees are either stingless or very unlikely to sting (only in self defense, if ever)."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bee

Bees will sting especially when they feel their hive is being threatened. They die when they sting, by the way.

Wasps don't die when they sting, and are much more aggressive in my experience.

    By the way:

"The venom of an Africanized bee is no more potent than that of a normal honey bee, but since the former subspecies tends to sting in greater numbers, the number of deaths from them are greater than any other subspecies. However, allergic reaction to bee venom from *any* bee can kill a person".

You could let yourself be tested for bee and wasp poison allergy.

  3. Maybe if you take a look at the huge amount of people who actually use bee stings to cure ailments, you will realize that it cant be that bad! There are videos of bees being placed on the skin around the troubled area and allowing the stings to remain in the skin to perform their magical cure! Bees have been used since ancient times as they have amazing powers. Look on them differently and read about them, this will reduce your fear of them. sure a sting hurts a little, thats why its called a "sting"!! Only very few people are really allergic to stings but then some people are allergic to peanuts! No need to let it "interfere with your life". If you ever get stung its gonna sting but its gone soon!

  4. i hate both also it more like a shot. but it continues to sting for another 5min after u are stung. and u could get an allergic reaction frm the sting

  5. I am so scared ever since I've been stung. I stepped on a bee. Honestly yes it does hurt but only the first like 5 min. And no it doesn't even hurt as bad as a shot. The worst part is when it starts to itch or it swells up alittle bit. But really it's not that bad to be stung.
