A simply supported one-way slab has an effective span of 7m and carries a uniformly distributed load of 6 kN/m2. Design a suitable slab and reinforcement to provide a fire resistance of 2 hours with mild exposure. Note Fcu=30 N/mm2, and Fy=460 M/mm2.

take a strip of the slab of one meter width, this will be designed as a simple beam with width being one meter, then depth can be found from the bending moment which will be

M = 6x7x7/8 = 36.75mt

then depth can be found and rft too
