  1. I have been made redundant 3 times and each time it has worked out OK I have had another job in less than 3 weeks

  2. But if you got made redundant you'd be given money to compensate... shouldn't that be able to help for some time. Plus the government can help people unemployed through like job seekers allowance but if you wanted help with things like rent you'd need to claim income support but that works better if you've got children.

Also i doubt your going to be made redundant but you seem bright enough... just got to have a lot of confidence and get yourself back out there

  3. If the worst did happen, you would get some help with rent and council tax.  The rent would be capped to the accommodation you need ie, for a single person, a one bedroom flat or if under 25, a bedsit or flatshare.  Whilst you were unemployed you would also get council tax benefit and unemployment benefit.  Hopefully this will not happen.  When things are bad, people save money by not going on holiday etc. but still like the odd days out so possibly event management won't be as hard hit as other areas.  Also businesses still have to advertise and try to get new custom so the events still need to go on so don't panic.

  4. It depends

If you have savings over 16,000 or a partner who works over 24 hours per week you would not get Housing Benefit

If you are not affected as above the Local council will help with Housing and council tax Benefit, unfortunately there is usually a gap between the maximum Housing Benefit you can get and the rent for a private tenancy and you will have o meet this cost yourself.

You can claim JSA via Jobcentre plus while you look for work
