  1. The easiest thing to do would be to buy a notebook and just glue this to it. We used to cover notebooks all of the time. We'd get notebooks like this:

Lay the notebook on the wrong side (inside) of the fabric. Wrap the fabric around the notebook (since you have a seam in the jean fabric, be sure to match the seam up with the spine of the notebook. Looks nicer), and, using a hot glue gun, glue the fabric to the inside of the notebook. Then, to make it look nicer on the inside covers, I usually covered a piece of cardboard that was just smaller than the inside covers of the notebook with a matching fabric and glued that down to the inside covers of the notebook. This covers up  the inside where you glued the fabric down.

I don't know if any of this makes sense. It's hard to explain, easier to show.  If all else fails- just hot glue the fabric to the front cover of a notebook and trim the edges of the fabric to meet up with the edges of the notebook- leave enough to be able to fray the edges like you wanted to. If you fray the edges, be sure to stitch around the edge, about 1/4- 1/2 inch in so that it won't fray too far into the fabric.

I would then decorate with ribbon, buttons, "jewels", anything you have really. Just have fun with it! This is a fun project, good luck!

Edit: Yes, you can sew paper. Check your sewing machine instructions and it should tell you what needle you can use. I'm not sure how many sheets you could sew through at once, but I've seen it done. It'll probably take a similar needle to what you would use to sew denim.

  2. Either glue it to the cover of a binder.

    or

Sew some layers of sheets of paper together and seam it down the middle of the paper to the cover to have pages like a journal.

    hope this helps some.

  3. Here's a link to a project that shows you how to cover notebooks with jeans.
